Exploring Matsushima

Taken on my trip to Japan, November 2022.

While in Sendai I was researching more sights to see when I heard about Matsushima. A beautiful coastal town with hundreds of islands dotted around the surrounding sea.

Walking around this cozy town there was much to see, a local castle, multiple shrines and temples, a bridge that crosses to an island, and a shop that makes kokeshi dolls.

If you’re visiting Sendai and find yourself an extra day on your trip, I would highly recommend visiting Matsushima.
